They let you know before taking your card, but card payments come with an extra 12%, and they asked me to pay in Euros. Maybe that’s common practice, just a heads-up. I’d still rather know before arriving so I can bring the right currency.

The excursions and programs I booked through Ajsen Travel with the hotel were organized really well. The staff were consistently cheerful, friendly, and ready to help. It was also convenient that guests can communicate easily in the languages of the former Yugoslavia. My stay at Hotel Metro was very pleasant, everything felt perfect.

Great service and a lovely, welcoming atmosphere. The hotel is especially suited to Balkan guests, since everyone speaks Serbian and is so kind and caring.

The dining hall is spacious, and breakfast is made up of typical Turkish dishes. The Metro hotel is well located, next to Istambul University and about 10 minutes from the grand bazaar. Our room was small and couldn’t fit all our luggage, and the heater was turned off in the daytime.

The location is the only real plus, along with the view from the rooftop. I wouldn’t stay here again. The room was dirty, smelled disgusting from the bathroom, and looked out onto garbage. The floor made it easy for someone to break in. I was in room 215, and won’t post the video I made. The receptionist was eating every time I passed and showed no interest in helping when I asked for water. The cleaning staff kept opening windows I’d closed because I had my laptop and valuables in the room. Once they made my bed but left my clothes under the sheets, so something poked me when I went to sleep. I had to take the clothes out and remake the bed.
