Ancient Town Hotel

The owner was so kind and attentive, and the breakfast was delicious. Rooms were clean and the location really central. For this price, it's a 10/10. I'd be happy to come back.

The breakfast was modest but tasty, and being on the top floor meant a wonderful view across Istanbul. The staff were kind and helped with whatever we needed. It felt familiar and welcoming for our one-night stay, and the small rooms were tidy. You can reach the landmarks in just a few minutes from this perfect location. I'd suggest a bigger place if you're staying longer, unless small rooms suit you. Otherwise, I can absolutely recommend this hotel.

Breakfast on the terrace was simple and tasty, with lovely views of the sea and old town. Mr Omar and the hosts were very helpful and made sure we had what we needed. The hotel is on a quiet little road, so we slept really well. It's only a five-minute walk to the main square and sultan Ahmet mosque. Great little hotel in a great location. Rebecca and family would definitely stay again. Thanks once more, Mr Omar.

The hotel photos were significantly misleading, and from the moment we arrived the place felt unclean. My wife and I planned to stay two nights but left after the first. Dirt was visible on the ceiling, bed, walls, mirrors, and floors. There was no water when we arrived, so we couldn't shower or use the facilities. The bedding was just one sheet that wouldn't stay in place, which made the night uncomfortable. There were no slippers, refrigerator, or drinking water in the room. Breakfast was included but very basic, with dirty cutlery and few choices. The omelette was so oily that it made me uncomfortable. The building was narrow and smelled unpleasant, with no elevator. When we left, nobody was at reception, so we had to leave the keys on the table without anyone acknowledging our departure. We had to find somewhere else for the second night, which added to the frustration. We were trying to book affordable accommodation for two more nights with good value, but ended up spending more than expected. I learned the hard way to think carefully before booking somewhere with a non-refundable policy. This hotel was a scam.
