Breakfast was one of the best parts for us, with a great Turkish spread of hot dishes, cold items, cheese, fruit, and honey. The rooftop is there too, and the lobby has a little museum of old area photos and interesting things from the past. There are birds and a resident turtle. They also have a gorgeous bar with Art Deco furniture. It wasn’t operating as a hotel bar, but anyone can sit there and look through the art albums. My mother and I stayed at Armada for almost two weeks, and we loved its old-world charm. The rooms have painted roses and lace curtains, but they’re roomy and comfortable for European and Sultanahmet standards. The bathrooms are modern, with plenty of counter space, and the rooms were very clean and serviced quickly. The location is touristy, but a little away from the busy spots, so we didn’t have noisy tourists or restaurants right nearby. There are still some great restaurants within three minutes. It’s right by the water, with a boat station across the street for tours, so there’s no need to go to the really crowded areas for one. We saw dolphins playing in the area several times. Haifa Sophia and the Blue Mosque are a 5-10 minute walk away.

The restaurant’s view of the Black Sea made for a really romantic meal, and the food was wonderful. A dear friend suggested this hotel, and he was right. The accommodations and authentic feel were lovely too. Thank you, Ibrahim Amar, Fatih, and Alper, you made this an experience I’ll remember. I’ll definitely come back. 💛🇹🇷💛

We were pleased with the Armada and would stay again. The service was great, the staff friendly, and the breakfast buffet incredible. I chose it for the unobstructed Bosphorus view and because it’s close to Sultahanet Square, Hagia Sophia, the Blue Mosque, and Topkapi Palace. It delivered on those expectations.

The roof terrace has views of the river and Asian Istanbul on one side, and the Blue Mosque and Hagia Sophia on the other. It’s about an 8-10 minute walk to the Blue Mosque and the obelisks, so the location worked well. The staff were polite and helpful. When the server was busy at another bar, they even gave me drinks for free so I wouldn’t be inconvenienced. Breakfast was nice and the price was very reasonable. It’s not a 4/5 star hotel, but it’s really nice for what it costs.

The room felt dated, and the live bird kept in a sad, empty cage was heartbreaking. The breakfast omelette was so salty I couldn’t eat it. We were sold this as a non-smoking hotel, but I woke up wheezing several times during the night. The room clearly smelled of long-term smoking, and we could smell smoke all through the corridors on the way to breakfast. I was taking steroids for an asthma exacerbation, so staying in a room where people had smoked was a major health concern. When we explained this, the hotel was dismissive and unhelpful, and refused to refund the remaining nights despite having sold us the room misleadingly. I contacted Trip.com, who said the hotel was again uncooperative and unresponsive. Trip.com took the complaint seriously and helped us a lot by providing a refund privately, which we appreciate.
