Astan Hotel Taksim

We booked the Junior suite for 3 nights with breakfast included, and I loved the comfort and attention to detail. The room was clean and had a lovely subtle scent, and I slept better than I have anywhere else in Istanbul, where I visit often. Astan Hotel is in the heart of the city, just 5 min from the bustle of Taksim-Istiklal street, making it a perfect escape. Nearby there’s everything from street food and markets to bakeries for every taste, all at affordable prices. I’ll definitely return soon.

The checkout was quite an ending. We asked to use a restroom and were told, “We don't have one,” then sent out to the public streets of Istanbul. If you like a last-minute quest to find a toilet and a front desk that tells creative stories, you might enjoy the hotel’s version of “self-service.” Everyone else, take this as a warning. At check-in, staff insisted that the booking for me and my elderly father was for a “romantic double bed,” and apparently there were no twin beds. They also sternly warned us not to mess up the room. Then there was the “convenient” location: our room faced Taksim traffic and dawn construction, a 24/7 noise show. An Authentic Taskim Experience (If You Know What I Mean).

The owners were so helpful with directions, transport cards, and maps, and even pointed us to the best currency exchange in the Taksim area. The people made the stay, and the breakfast was the best! The room, on the top floor, had a huge balcony, probably the biggest in the district. There was plenty of space to do yoga or stretch, or have morning coffee with a friend. We stayed for 5 nights back in june 2024, and it was a lovely experience. The room was always clean, everything worked properly, and the wifi never dropped out. Thank you for all your work and hospitality. I’ll stay here next time I’m in Istanbul.

One of our best stays in Istanbul. The room was spacious and had everything we needed, including a hair dryer, iron, and coffee maker. The location was great, and the staff were so nice. Check-in and check-out were quick and easy. Definitely recommend!
