I booked their supposed “best” room for three nights, but after just one night I had to get out of this disgraceful “hostel.” I used to be a hotel concierge in New York City, and I’ve never felt so unsafe. The hotel shares its only elevator with a rooftop restaurant run by a third party, and that elevator gives access to all guest rooms. Room service is carried uncovered in it too. Restaurant patrons knocked and pounded on our door late at night as a prank, then ran off laughing. Anyone could get into your room if you weren’t careful. An Egyptian guy who works for the restaurant followed me around the hotel and scared me. He was extremely rude, and I eventually argued with him in front of hotel staff. Management did nothing, saying he didn’t work for the hotel, even though he could access the lobby, elevator, guest areas, and rooms. They clearly didn’t care about guest safety or the experience. The front desk receptionist also seemed to be the housekeeper, maintenance person, and bellman. Our room hadn’t been cleaned at check-in, stank, and was burning hot. When we complained, the hotel said we’d received “complimentary” cleaning. The AC is controlled centrally and stays either hot or cold. The room thermostat did nothing. We were overheating all night, slept naked, and opened the window, but loud music was blasting outside. The hotel gave us no refund. I booked through Hotels.com (Expedia), and they gave me the runaround with endless blame shifting too. Don’t spend your hard-earned money here. Stay somewhere you’ll be treated much better.

We had both a suite and another room, and they were superb. The staff were helpful and went out of their way to make us feel special. There’s also an incredible rooftop restaurant with great food. It’s a lovely little boutique hotel, very close to the blue mosque and Hagia Sofia.

The rooms were really nice, and the staff were super friendly and helpful. It’s a lovely hotel in a great location, and I’d absolutely come back. Wi-Fi was weak in the rooms, though the staff gave us a couple of passwords to try. We could also hear the restaurant music and noise from upstairs in our room.

We stayed for three days, and the view from the rooftop restaurant was beautiful. The tea and coffee there were delicious too. The hotel is close to everything, and the welcoming staff were always helpful. From the service to the look of the place, it was an unforgettable stay. I’d highly recommend it to anyone visiting Istanbul.

My sisters and I felt harassed and extremely uncomfortable, and we just wanted to leave as quickly as possible. After my sisters went downstairs to the WC, the waiter followed them. He asked my older sister whether she was younger than me, then winked and smirked while saying he liked me. When she looked confused and said I didn’t, he winked again and said, “Saudi girls love Turkish men.” She told him she didn’t know about that, then left and told us what happened. Earlier, he’d welcomed us and complimented my gothic-style makeup, then asked where I was from. When I said “Saudi Arabia,” he said not many Saudi girls have that style and that they all look “similar.” He also said he was a Kurd. I ordered manti, a Turkish dish, and he asked if I liked Turkish dramas because I’d chosen it. I said no, I ordered it because it’s similar to a Saudi dish I love. I’d meant him no harm, though I’d felt a little uncomfortable already. Another waiter served us tea, but the same man jumped in to serve mine. It was so unprofessional and disgusting. This is NOT something to expect from a p
