Boutique California Hotel

I stayed here during winter 2022. It’s an all-around good place, and the administration was nice. Even with Istanbul’s usual hills, getting to historical sites or other infrastructure was easy, so you can definitely save on transport. Nothing especially fancy, but you don’t need much for a good hotel.

A decent, comfortable place for a no-frills stay in central Istanbul, and fair for the price. The room had AC, a private bathroom with hot water, and a comfortable bed. Staff were polite. There’s no food or even tea at the hotel, but you can find everything within a two-minute walk.

Cihan, the owner, is polite and supportive. He gives you the information you need and is reachable in person or by phone at almost any time. The room is small, but its wooden furniture and sea view make it cozy, and staying there feels like being at home. The location is excellent, in the heart of the historic area and close to the sea. Sultanahmet bus and tram station is a 10-minute walk away.

The staff were so helpful. I got lost on the train, and they even came to find me. They were overbooked, so they moved me to a room at another place they have just down the street. It was spotless, with a great bed, fluffy pillows, a brand new modern bathroom, and a lovely neighborhood. I couldn’t be happier!
