Continental Hotel Pera

The room and facilities were acceptable, and Continental Hotel Pera is conveniently close to İstiklal Street. My experience was affected by a booking mistake: I entered the wrong dates last September, and the hotel wouldn't allow a change or refund. Better customer support in that situation would make a big difference.

The upper floors have lovely views, and the rooms are really spacious. The hotel is right by the metro, which is a great location. Service was pretty good, though there’s room for improvement.

The location is very good, but getting back to the hotel after a day out was something I dreaded. The rooms are tiny compared with the photos, and the whole place felt uncomfortable and unclean. There was construction inside the hotel, so using the stairs was difficult, and work right beside the rooms was extremely loud all the time, even around midnight. The toilets were dirty and smelled awful, and the pillows were dirty too.

We liked the location, and the gym was okay for a hotel. The rest of the stay was disappointing. The rooms were much smaller than they looked in the photos, and we could hear every little sound from the hallway. Construction in the staircase went on from morning until midnight, and it was so loud we couldn’t rest. Even the smell reached our room. The bed linen wasn’t changed for 5 days. One pillow had a yellow stain, and we found chewing gum under its cover. The sink wasn’t always cleaned properly, the toilet sometimes smelled bad, and the partly broken window wouldn’t close all the way.
