Hotel California Istanbul

I’ve visited at least 20 countries and stayed in 100 hotels, but I wouldn’t recommend this one. I booked it for my family for March 3-7. The rooms were very small, and the bathroom handwashing area was broken. I was also blamed for that. Receptionist Muhammed was disrespectful and angry. He stood over us watching what we ate and complained, even telling me and the scientist, “You eat too much.” On my last day, before my flight, I asked for a sandwich because I have a small child. He said, “I can't give it to you because u eat 3 day food in 1 day,” then started making fun of me.

The staff were very friendly, and the location made it easy to see nearby sights. The Hagia Sophia area was less than a six-minute walk away. I stayed here for a few days when I first got to Istanbul. The room was a little small but perfectly fine, and breakfast was excellent.

The rooms were clean and good, and the staff were friendly and ready to help. It’s a great base for walking to the main tourist attractions. I’d definitely stay again.

The staff were genuinely welcoming and so helpful, and breakfast had a lovely selection of fresh options. I found the art deco decor charming, while the rooms were clean, quiet, and comfortable. It’s close to the main attractions, yet felt like a peaceful break from the crowds. There’s a supermarket around the corner and the tram is just up the road. A real gem, 10/10.
