The location is handy, in lively Şişli, with easy metro access to Taksim Square. The hotel is comfortable and convenient overall, and the reception staff’s basic English was enough for simple communication. The apartment was generally clean, with no odd smells and clean floors, beds, and towels. The little kitchen was useful, with a kettle, microwave, and washing machine for snacks and light cooking. It would help to have kitchen towels, a little detergent, and dish soap. The balcony was a nice feature, but it wasn’t very clean during our stay. Breakfast was basic but fair for the price. The coffee was weak, and the eggs seemed reheated rather than freshly boiled. Wi-Fi was unreliable and kept breaking up, while the air conditioner was noisy and could be bothersome in summer. Maintenance could be more prompt and thorough. Some electrical panels near the elevators were left open, which could be hazardous, especially for children.

The rooms are okay, but the neighborhood is extremely loud, and there’s no chance of getting a normal night’s sleep. The windows provide no insulation at all. Parking is very steep and narrow, so if you love your car, don’t park there.
There are plenty of food options within walking distance. The rooms are neat and spacious, and breakfast is a plus. Whether this hotel is a good fit depends on what you need: the area is congested, rides to the hotel are often cancelled, and some electrical fittings are faulty.
The only positive part of our stay was that the cleaning was very good. The furniture was old and worn, the location was far from all the attractive places, and the view was of very old, ugly buildings, despite the hotel claiming to have a city view. Staff didn’t speak English, and there’s no reception in the building, it’s in another one. We booked a room with a washing machine, but were first given a different room without one. We eventually got moved to the room we’d booked. The toilet flush kept failing, and we had to fix it ourselves several times, but it still broke again. There was a bad drain smell, and we had to ask for toilet paper rolls every day because there wasn’t enough. The AC stopped working twice, as did the electricity. During one outage we got stuck in the elevator, and it took far too long for anyone to respond and get us out. One elevator was always out of order, and both were rarely working at the same time. We had a very bad stay. The place wasn’t at all like the listing on the booking app, and it lacked basic things a hotel should have.
Good value for the price, and there’s a nice market on the next street. It’s on the outskirts, away from Hagia Sophia and central Istanbul, so getting picked up can be difficult. Tour operators may not want to come outside their service area, and taxis charge more because of the location.
