Mercure Istanbul Sirkeci Hotel

For a business trip, this was a wonderful place to stay. Hagia Sophia is about a 15-minute walk away, and there are plenty of restaurants, bars, and shops nearby. The hotel sits on a small street, so it stayed pleasantly quiet at night despite the central location. The room was spacious, clean, and comfortable. Breakfast was excellent for vegetarians, with lots of cheeses, fresh fruit and vegetables, plus tea, coffee, and milk alternatives. The whole team was friendly and helpful, from arranging affordable taxis to sharing good local tips. Special thanks to Emirhan and Erob for their great support.

The people here made me feel at home away from home, and each of them made the stay more enjoyable: Sercan, Emir, Mahsum, and Baris, the mustache, restaurant manager. They showed a beautiful side of Turkish hospitality. At the restaurant, I asked two Turkish ladies Chefs to make us omelets the way Turkish housewives make eggs. They prepared both dishes with such warmth and care. Thank you all.

I spent six nights at the Mercure Sirkeci for a conference. The rooms are a little small, but the beds, bedding, and pillows are super comfortable. The bathroom is modern, and the shower consistently had good pressure and hot water. There aren’t many amenities, and while the location is great for sightseeing, nightlife is a bit farther away, about a 10-minute cab ride. The T1 tram is very close and convenient. I’d have given five stars if not for a strange no-guest policy that they announced when I arrived.

I’ve lost count of my trips to Istanbul. We’d always booked mid-range hotels before, and every one had a million issues. This was the first place where we were completely satisfied. Right from the moment we walked in, the staff seemed genuinely eager to help with whatever we needed. It felt like they cared about how we were doing, not just that helping was part of their job. The rooms were quiet and clean, and the breakfast was excellent too. We’re really glad we chose Mercure Sirkeci and will definitely book it again next time we’re in Istanbul.
