The one good thing is the low price and central location. The room materials are falling apart, and the staff seemed very unprofessional. I saw kitchen staff handling food with bare hands after cleaning tables, and there was no dress code. It's okay if you're just after a cheap place to stay, but definitely not for anyone looking for a true Istanbul experience.
We arrived at 5:00, and even though rooms were empty, we were told we couldn't go in until 8:00. That shocked me and made my friends angry. I was a customer, but they didn't treat us in a friendly or helpful way. When we left, he cut the rest of the bags, either the hotel. They don't know how to deal with customers. I don't recommend it, don't waste your time.
The breakfast was good, and the city views from the top, 6th floor, were incredible. The location is fantastic and the rooms are spacious and clean, but there was no safe or kettle in the room. Highly recommend it for the location.
Flamingo used to be one of the best hotels around. Lately, though, I think overconfidence has led to a decline. I've been to reception three times, and the receptionists seemed and looked u bothered. I'm glad there are other competitive hotels around that value service and hospitality.
