Galatas Hotel Istanbul

Volkan was flexible and resourceful when hosting our group of eight, even though we didn’t have a reservation. Staff were friendly and attentive, and the clean, comfortable rooms and amenities met what we expected from a four-star property. Breakfast was included in our price and had plenty of choices. The hotel is centrally located near local shops, restaurants, and public transport, and the atmosphere felt relaxing and well maintained.

We were in Istanbul as a couple for two days of sightseeing, and loved the hotel’s atmosphere. It was clean and lovely, with a great location and friendly, accommodating staff. The adorable little red lobby cat was the chief officer of happiness. We’ll definitely return.

Breakfast was so good, with a rich variety. I only tried it on my third and last day, and regretted missing it the first two. During my three days here, I was impressed with the kind, helpful staff, clean and hygienic rooms, and a fantastic location that made the major sights easy to reach. This may be the best hotel I’ve stayed at in Istanbul, and I highly recommend it.

Princess the cat in the lobby was a highlight, and the hotel was very comfortable with good facilities, though it felt a bit soulless. The best thing is the location: it’s easy to reach the tram, metro, and ferry. We walked over Galata Bridge to the old city, Hagia Sophia, Blue Mosque, and Grand Bazaar. Rooms have a Scandinavian style and were very clean and calm, with comfy beds and a great shower. The basic room was quite small to share between two and had no view. The deluxe room had a partial sea view. There’s a great pool and sauna. We didn’t use the mini hammam or massage, and weren’t sure how they worked, since we went to a gorgeous renovated old 1500's hammam just down the road. Breakfast was okay, served on the roof with partial sea views. From the roof terrace you can see Galata Tower.
