Grand Anatolia Hotel

The neighbourhood was dirty and poorly maintained, and the hotel felt overpriced for what we got. Breakfast was the same each day, with little variety and only average quality. Our room was tiny and the toiletries were poor. The blankets were stained, including the replacements we requested, and housekeeping never came during our stay. Another guest had no Wi-Fi in her room and was told to use it in the hallway. That’s not acceptable. We were disappointed and wouldn’t recommend the Grand Anatolia Hotel.

The area was so noisy that getting enough sleep was hard, and it was a bit cold at night. They couldn’t help us with an extra blanket 😅. The carpets were extremely dirty, almost black, and the fruit at breakfast hadn’t been washed well. Breakfast itself was average. Still, the bed was comfortable, the shower was great, and the receptionist was kind and helpful. Generally, it was a good stay.

The Wi-Fi only worked in the lobby, which is tiny. The elevator is old, often out of order, and felt unsafe. It could take no more than 2 people. The building and furniture are very old, the rooms are small, the shower was broken, and the sink was partly blocked. There were electrical problems from time to time, too. The owner seemed greedy and the staff were bad. This hotel is very bad and should be rated 0.5 star. I don’t recommend it at all. This hotel is very bad and I do not recommend it at all..

The location is the main thing it has going for it, near tram stations and several landmarks in the old part of Istanbul. The hotel is old, poorly managed, and badly maintained. We had burned sheets, no hot water, and a poor breakfast. Not worth it.
