The breakfast team and the rest of the staff were exceptionally kind and polite. In the room, though, I missed having an iron and a small microwave would be useful. The bathroom was so dim I could barely see my face, so better lighting or a lit magnifying mirror would help. The window seal also let in wind and noise. Those issues are why I’d rate the stay four stars.

The people here made the stay. Esra was especially attentive and took care of every small request, and the whole team was friendly. When I arrived well before check-in to leave my bags, manager Mr. Ozgur kindly invited me to have traditional Turkish breakfast while he arranged to get my room ready early. The breakfast was outstanding. Great location too. I had an amazing stay in mid-February and will definitely return.

I chose this hotel for a short stay on February 1, mainly because I had an early flight the next day. It’s not right in central Istanbul, which suited me: the main bus station is about a five-minute walk away, with a direct airport bus. That transport access was very convenient. The staff were friendly and helpful, and reception was always ready to assist when I called. They even opened the gym an hour early so I could exercise before my flight. Breakfast was included and tasty. My room was clean enough, with a soft, comfortable bed. There were some problems in the bathroom. The towel holder was broken and nearly fell on me, and the water temperature swung suddenly from very hot to very cold. I got burned a few times. I’d also booked a non-smoking room, but cigarette smoke came through what seemed to be shared ventilation, especially in the bathroom. That could be difficult for anyone sensitive to smoke. It was cold outside in early February. There’s no central heating, just air conditioning used for heat. The room warmed up quickly, but the air got very dry, and after switching it off the room cooled down again, especially the floor. For the price, I thought the hotel was good. I’d consider it for a short stay if airport transport matters more than being in the city center.

Grand S Hotel made for a cosy, pleasant stay in Istanbul. The rooms were clean and comfortable, breakfast had plenty of tasty choices, and the service was excellent. The staff were friendly and professional. A special thanks to receptionist Mohammed, who was the best. I’d highly recommend it to visitors, and the stay was unforgettable.
