Gulec Konak Hotel

The view was wonderful, and the Wi-Fi worked well. Around the hotel you’ll find plenty of restaurants and everything else you need. It’s in a tourist area, near Sultanahmet metro, the covered market, and the Egyptian market. The reception staff were friendly when we arrived. At breakfast, a woman cooks eggs and will bring Turkish coffee if you’d like. The treatment was what I liked most. Thank you very much.

I found this hotel extremely unsafe and unprofessional. The staff were dismissive and patriarchal, and they lied during a threatening situation. Reception was often unattended. They also handled reservations dishonestly, marking guests as No show to silence their reviews. I reported the hotel to the Ministry of Tourism and don’t recommend staying here. Edit after their reply: You’re really not the smartest, are you? This drama-filled response is wrecking your own credibility. Your bad faith won’t get you very far, “poor little victim.”

The only strange part was having to climb the stairs, since there’s no lift. Otherwise, my wife and I had a very nice week here. Our third-floor room had a sea view and was pretty clean, with suitable furnishings. Breakfast at the rooftop restaurant was delicious. Adel at reception was friendly and very helpful.

The location is beautiful and historic, close to Sultan Ahmed Mosque, Hagia Sophia, the Grand Bazaar, and Sultan Ahmed Metro Station. We enjoyed the view and delicious breakfast, and the comfortable airport rides both ways made us happy. The staff treated us well.
