10 Karakoy Istanbul - Special Class

I’d stay here again despite a few things that let it down. The hotel is in a great spot in the heart of Karakoy, and the public areas are beautifully decorated. My room was well equipped, with good air conditioning and amenities. Breakfast costs far too much, especially with plenty of good, cheap alternatives nearby, so I’d book a room only. The hotel is slow to answer emails before a stay, and both check-in and check-out take unnecessarily long. The receptionist was aloof, questioning and sarcastic, which made a poor impression.

The rooms were very clean, the beds comfortable, and the staff professional and helpful. They weren’t especially warm, though, and could be pushy about services and invasive. The location was walkable and felt safe, but we liked some of the other places we stayed better. For what we paid, I’m not complaining, but it felt more like a 3.5-star hotel than five stars, or four at most. With so many options nearby, I’d personally focus more on location and views. For those, this one wasn’t for me.

We loved the big rain shower and would definitely stay again. The hotel was very clean, with friendly service and a wide breakfast selection, including prunes. The rooftop restaurant was nice and had a nice view, and the bartender made great drinks and spoke very good English. It was centrally located, so we could walk to the Bridge, spice market, mosque, shopping mall, lots of restaurants and small shopping vendors.

Ferit was incredibly kind and helpful throughout our stay. He gave us good advice and took care of everything, making the whole experience easy and stress-free. He’s a real professional, and someone you can trust with anything. The hotel itself was perfectly fine, and all the staff were very friendly. It was a great experience.
