Ipekyolu Hotel

Our flight was cancelled after we’d booked two nights, and the hotel let us extend by one night. The staff were friendly and the rooms clean. We also used the prepaid taxi to IST, which arrived on time and cost less than the rate shown in the Bitaksi app. There are a couple of small restaurants right next door. A nice little hotel.

The location made it easy to explore. The train station is about two minutes away, the bus station four minutes, and Sultanahmet Square around ten minutes on foot. Topkapi Palace, Aya Sofya, Blue Mosque, and Basilica cistern are all walkable, while the hotel is far enough from the tourist crowds. We had a family room that was essentially two rooms, larger than I expected, clean, and equipped with the essentials. Breakfast was a good Turkish spread, and the staff were courteous and helpful. They also arranged reliable, punctual airport pickup and drop-off. We stayed three nights in June 2025, and I couldn’t be happier. If our family comes back to Turkey, we’ll stay here again.

The owner and staff made our time in Istanbul feel special. My wife had a birthday during the stay, and they surprised her with a cake. We’re grateful for that! The hotel is authentic and in a quiet spot in the old part of the city, with Hagia Sophia and Blue Mosque about a five-minute walk away. They look magical in the evening. Breakfast was excellent, everything was very clean, and the staff were friendly and helpful. We’ll be back. 🫶

The staff were friendly and helpful, and we didn’t run into any problems during our stay. Our room had four beds and plenty of space, with hot water available around the clock. Breakfast was okay. It’s a cozy hotel right by the tram stop, within walking distance of Blue Mosque, and only two minutes from the shore on foot. We had a pleasant stay.
