Le Safran Palace Hotel

The rooftop terrace has an incredible view, and for the city center the nightly price is really affordable. I ended up here by accident after mixing up the booking date for another hotel and arriving a day early. I’m grateful they took me in for the night despite my limited English. One administrator spoke Russian, which was very convenient. My room was small. There were no other guests, so I didn’t hear noise, though I’m sure it would be an issue when the hotel is busier. Breakfast was modest, and the chef was extremely friendly, explaining things to me in Turkish. The food was fried in oil, so it was greasy, but still tasty and easy enough to eat. I’d try the cheese rolls. It’s a decent option if you’re in a tight spot or need one or two nights. For a longer holiday, I’d spend more and find somewhere better.

For the price, it’s a bargain, especially with such an excellent location. It’s a small hotel with only 15 rooms. Mine was clean, the bed was comfy, and the shower was nice. The staff were friendly. The fridge in my room didn’t work very well, and breakfast was a basic buffet.

I stayed for a week and had a great time. It’s a lovely small hotel with wonderful service and an amazing breakfast spread. My only issue was the tiny bathroom, though it might be fine if you’re a smaller person.

My first time staying in a budget hotel, and I found a nice, clean little room in an excellent location. The Turkish breakfast was standard, with chai, lehmoyat, zamrood, coffee, and more. The hotel is centrally placed for eminunu and blue mosque, with lots of restaurants, Egypt bazar, and major attractions within walking distance. eminou Sahil is a 7-minute connection away. Ask for Mr. Osmanudiin if you book, he’s very cooperative and willing to help. It’s a safe, family-friendly hotel.
