Le Safran Hotel

We’re a family from Kuala Lumpur 🇲🇾 Malaysia, with two small kids, and we were very happy to find this hotel. It’s fairly priced and in a strategic spot, within walking distance for us to go to subuh prayer at hagia sphia grand mosque. Alhamdulillah, it’s very nearby.

We had a miserable time trying to sleep. The floorboards creaked all night, and people talking in the next room sounded like they were right beside us. We had to wear noise-cancelling headphones to get any rest. The shower drain was completely clogged, so it was like standing in a puddle of dirty water, and the sink was blocked too. The room was extremely dirty and poorly maintained. Towels were dark and stained, the little soaps were broken into pieces, and there was a strange smell. The carpet was filthy, dust covered the desk, and even a previous guest’s socks were still on the floor. The hotel’s services were overpriced compared with anywhere else we stayed in Turkey. This place needs serious cleaning and maintenance. I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone wanting a comfortable or hygienic stay.

For the price, this is a great place. The location is handy, with lots of main sights and attractions nearby, and the staff were always friendly. They upgraded my room for free at check-in. The room was good, clean, and cosy, with a few small blemishes in the decor. You can hear a lot from other rooms, though, and you have to leave your keys at reception to get room service.

Our confirmed booking wasn’t honoured. Instead of the rooms with rooftop terrace that we’d booked, we were put in lower-quality rooms in a different building. After we complained, we were moved to apartments, but the staff left our packed luggage unattended in a corridor where anyone could get to it. Our friend’s belongings were also taken out of her room without her consent. The staff were rude and dismissive, saying we were “creating a problem.” The way they handled both the bookings and guests’ personal things was very unprofessional.
