The staff were great, but the cleanliness was poor. Some rooms don't have air conditioning, and the kitchenware was old and dirty, nothing like the pictures. I even found a cockroach in our room. :)

The staff were good, but there were way too many cockroaches in my room. I killed more than 10 in the first 4 hours, and the next morning there were still some in the kitchen.

The Wi-Fi barely worked, and the balcony view was worse than the outskirts of Baghdad. On the first morning, the mosque next door woke me at 6:30 with the muezzin's prayers over a powerful megaphone. The next morning I found a dozen cockroaches on the floor. We booked two rooms, but on arrival they gave us just one, saying, "I thought it was a fake." No one spoke English. In ten years of traveling, this was easily the worst place I've stayed.

The place was damp and full of cockroaches. I lost my phone, and the staff denied having it. Staying here was one of my biggest mistakes in Istanbul.
