Time Hotel Mecidiyekoy

The breakfast was delicious and included every morning, and the staff were attentive. Our room was clean, with comfortable beds and good towels. The bathroom was small but had what we needed, and stayed warm and humid after a shower. There’s a good view of the city, with plenty to watch from the window. The Sunday street market out front was a treat, and the neighborhood has plenty of food shops, groceries, barbers, electronics stores, and clothing shops. The walk to the metro is short. Traffic noise is always there, though it didn’t drive us crazy. Several different mosques nearby broadcast the call to prayer multiple times a day, so Muslims have a choice of at least four. Take care on the spiral stairs between floors. There’s also an elevator to make getting around easier.

There are plenty of places to eat around the hotel, from cafes and fast food to restaurants, and the food was excellent. For getting around, a bus stops nearby and goes to Taxim, the Golden Horn, and Camlica Hill. You can walk to the metro too. It took an hour to get from our room to Istanbul airport. A good place for an overnight stay if you'll spend the day out in the city.

The location worked well for us, with a local bus stop five minutes away, the metro about ten minutes on foot, and city buses around a fifteen-minute walk. Rooms are small and you can hear people in other rooms. Breakfast was included, but really bad. The price was low, so it's okay if all you need is somewhere to sleep and go.

I liked watching the Sunday food market in the street from the breakfast room. The room was okay, the location was good, and breakfast was very good.
