Mukarnas Taksim Hotel

The breakfast was phenomenal, with distinctive dishes and a different range of options each morning. The wait staff went out of their way to make sure I was fed before heading out. I also loved the shower and found the bed extremely comfortable. Check-in and check-out were easy, and having my bags checked on the morning I arrived and the day I left was a lifesaver. I wanted to try some of the excursions offered at the front desk, but my itinerary was too full for more activities. My stay at Mukarnas Taksim was perfect, and I’d definitely come back.

I expected much better service and more qualified staff given the hotel’s high online ratings. I booked and paid in full for an expensive room through the hotel website for my nephew, who doesn’t have an international credit card. I clearly noted that the booking was for him and included all his information. When he arrived late at night with his luggage, the receptionist refused to let him check in because my card had paid. There was no proper attempt to verify the booking, help him, or suggest another solution. He ended up walking around for hours to find another hotel, paying a much higher last-minute price and getting no proper rest before his early flight. I understand security and payment policies, but people commonly book and pay for family, as gifts, or through travel agents. This reservation was already paid, documented, and explained in advance, so refusing him without support was unacceptable. The handling showed a serious lack of professionalism, communication, and care. A confirmed, paid reservation shouldn’t leave a guest stranded in a foreign city late at night. It caused unnecessary stress, wasted time, extra expense, and worry about my nephew’s safety.

We’ve just returned from four nights at Mukarnas Taksim Hotel. This was my second stay, and it was perfect again. The hospitality and service were great, and the location is ideal, with food and shopping right on the doorstep. A big thank you to Serhat at reception, who went above and beyond to help us in every situation. I definitely recommend it and will be back.

The breakfasts were delicious, and the staff were polite and attentive. Special thanks to the staff at the Gözde and Ayhan restaurants. We also slept well: even with noisy Istiklal Street nearby, the room was quiet and we couldn’t hear the neighbors. The location is great for tourists.
