We’d contacted My House Laleli in advance to share our flight number in case of delays and let them know we’d arrive after midnight. When we got there, they tried to charge us before telling us there was no room. Then they took us to a hotel across the street. We were suspicious and found out that this other hotel was significantly cheaper. We can only assume the person at My House Laleli’s reception thought they could make a little extra for themselves. Being told there’s no room in the early hours after traveling, and then having someone try to cheat you, is the last thing you need. The receptionist at the second hotel was helpful, and we have no complaints about them. They also gave us the impression that this kind of thing wasn’t unusual for My House Laleli. I wouldn’t trust this hotel.

Avoid this place. Cockroaches were everywhere, and a mouse ran through the room. It was dirty, smelly, and mouldy. The rooms had a horrible smell, mould in the bathrooms, dirty mattresses, and broken electrical sockets, so they weren’t suitable for our little children. We had trouble from the first day. They said our room wasn’t ready at check-in and took us between different hotels until we got a room at Kuran hotel. It had one double bed and one single bed for the five of us. The next day we waited for hours, only to hear that our room still wasn’t ready, so we stayed another night at Kuran hotel. On day three, we were given two separate rooms at My House Laleli, one with a double bed and one with two single beds, so we were split up. After two nights there, they gave us a bigger room. The following night a mouse ran between us and under the bed. It was midnight when we went to reception, but the woman there didn’t care and said the manager wouldn’t come until morning. Our kids slept on the reception chairs until we found a room in a nearby hotel just after 00:30. We had to pay again for the remaining nights at that hotel. The second day, the manager said he’d tried to charge our bank card but the payment had failed, even though we were paying in cash. It seemed like he’d tried to get paid twice. We contacted booking. Com and are waiting for a response. We’d never use or recommend this place. Avoid it.

The whole experience was nerve-wracking, and I strongly recommend finding somewhere away from the chaos of the Laleli area. Check-in took two hours. After waiting an hour and a half in a small, crowded reception hall, they drove us in my personal car to another hotel, Eliza Hotel, which had no parking spot. The next day we had to move hotels again. There was no free transport, and the free parking promised on the booking website was an illusion.

I had a two-night reservation through booking.com, but when I arrived to check in at 22:30, the clerk said the hotel was overbooked and had no room. He took me to two hotels across the street. One was full, and the other didn’t look right, so I declined it. The hotel charged my credit card for the reservation it didn’t honor. This place doesn’t respect bookings and will try to take your money. Pure theft.
