Next House Pera Hotel

The staff are super friendly and the location is the main draw. The rooms are convenient, except for the one on the roof, on the 6th floor, where the low ceiling had me bumping my head repeatedly. There are no facilities at all, not even a lobby, so you’re basically just renting a room. The elevator was a nightmare too. During my week there I took the stairs more often, since the elevator was occupied most of the day by the housekeeping cart and served as a chimney for the restaurant downstairs. I’d stay again, but only on a floor I could get to and from without a hassle.

The location is the best thing about the hotel, just a five-second walk to istiklal Street. The rooms are great for two people, and there’s room to accommodate a child too. Room service comes every morning, and everything else about the hotel was great. The one snag is getting a taxi. They can’t stop outside, and walking to one with big luggage can be a little tricky. It’s manageable, though.

That bit of night noise was noticeable, though the double-paned windows and earplugs should help. We were glad we picked Nexthouse Pera Hotel after looking at a lot of places around Istanbul. Husni and his team were friendly, helpful, and readily available, and Mornings at Pera next door was a lovely addition to the stay. The room was clean when we came back, with fresh towels, thanks to the cleaning team.

We loved the beds, and the room was cleaned well every day. The staff were pleasant and spoke English. Nexthouse Pera is right off the main shopping street, with a brisk walk to both Galata tower and Taksim square. Highly recommend it.
