Ottoman World Hotel

We had a wonderful stay and will certainly come back to Ottoman World on our next Istanbul trip. The staff were exceptional, friendly, honest, and helpful. The street has excellent food and very friendly staff too. We enjoyed many meals there and recommend it for any meal. Many, many thanks, Ishmael.

We ended up here late in the evening after running away from another awful hotel. The room was big, but not worth what the owner charged. There was cigarette smoke throughout the hotel because the owner and workers smoked on the first floor. No lift, just very steep stairs, and no bath supplies at all. We had to ask for water, shampoo, bath gel, and room slippers. The bed was so uncomfortable that my neck still hurt two days later. It was pretty chilly in the room, but the owner didn't turn on the heater, so we had to work out how to do it ourselves. Music from the street went on all night like a disco, and we couldn't sleep properly until after 2am.

The room was big and everything was fine. The owner gave us lots of things for free, including coffee, information, and tips on saving money. It's close to the best places to visit and was very good value for money.

We stayed for 7 nights, and they were the worst nights ever. The hotel and furniture were old, with broken pieces and electrical wires all over the place, which felt like a health hazard. The manager was always drunk. They never changed the beds or towels, so I had to keep asking. Towels and sheets were dirty and ripped. The bathroom was tiny and mouldy. There was no lift, and the staircase was extremely tight and small, so you had to carry your own bags. Breakfast was included in our booking, but they served it to us rather than offering a buffet. I don't recommend this hotel.
