Rixos Studios Taksim

We stayed from 31 August to 4 September 2014, and I wouldn’t stay here again. I travel often, but I’ve never paid a hotel price for such low quality and poor professionalism. Compared with other places I’ve stayed in Istanbul, Rixos comes off badly. In many countries I’d rate it as a three-star hotel. The hotel has two buildings, with the secondary one across the road. It didn’t feel like a four- or five-star property in its facilities or service, and the view from there was nothing like the website photos. When booking, they show the main building without saying which one you’ll be assigned to. Cleaning and supplies were a recurring problem. Staff seemed poorly trained, especially for housekeeping. Towels and accessories weren’t replaced or left in adequate quantities, and despite having a minibar, there weren’t even glasses for water. We had to ask for glasses each day. Our room cards didn’t always lock or unlock the door, so we had to go to reception to have them renewed. Breakfast was just moderate, getting coffee took several requests, and the dining area was noisy with people and children. The website also didn’t clearly say that in-room Wi-Fi costs extra.
