A cosy, welcoming hotel for our first visit to Istanbul, and the room looked just like the pictures. It was also very warm. The staff were helpful and friendly. There are lots of cafes, restaurants, a supermarket, and a bakery nearby. The location is less convenient on foot when it’s raining, since it’s down a slippery hill.

Across the street there’s a park where the kids could burn off energy, and a grocery store nearby for fresh fruit and breakfast items. The street felt clean and safe for walks, with plenty within easy reach for an evening stroll. Hagia Sophia is about a 30-minute walk away, and there are lots of places to eat around the hotel, including its own restaurant, where the food was incredibly delicious. We stayed six days as a family of five, using two rooms, and it worked perfectly. Our kitchenette had everything we needed to make breakfast for our three children. I’m hard pressed to find a downside.

The staff made the whole stay easy, always ready to help with a smile from check-in through check-out. My room was lovely, and having a balcony was a delightful bonus. I enjoyed sitting there and taking in the views. I absolutely loved my stay, and would recommend this hotel for its rooms and outstanding service.

The owner is respectful and very friendly. Another man working there kept trying to sell me site tours arranged by the hotel, presumably because he gets a commission. He insisted and didn’t like hearing that I’d already made plans. The location is good, with most major sites in the area a 10-15 minute walk away. The rooms need updating, especially the bathrooms. Taking a bath was difficult because barely any water came from the shower.
