The room was clean, thanks for that, but it wasn't “Lux” at all. There wasn't even a door for the toilet, and the room had no fan, aircon, wardrobe, fridge, or kettle. Just a dirty balcony and seagulls screaming around the clock. The street outside was very noisy, and the neighborhood didn't feel safe or friendly. There are lots of bars and pubs nearby with “girls,” and people fighting and screaming there woke me at 2-3 am. The price was much too high for these conditions. At checkout the staff wouldn't even say goodbye, despite me speaking Turkish.

The evening receptionist was very friendly, and the location is convenient, close to the ferries and within walking distance of the airport metro station. I stayed for two nights. Ruyam hotel was by far the best deal for one person among the hotels and hostels I've visited in the area. The room was basic, but very clean, comfortable, and bigger and better than the much smaller, more expensive rooms on the same street. The price was about the same as a bunk in a popular shared hostel room. The bathroom was shared, right beside the room, and always empty while I was there. It's very good value for a single person, and I absolutely recommend it.

The room had a bed, table, and TV, but little else. No kettle, refrigerator, chair, AC, fan, or kitchen. They didn't put a mirror in until the last day.

I'm glad I could stay here. The receptionists were really kind and humble, and made me feel comfortable. The hotel is close to the bus stop and in a very strategic location. Thanks so much for looking after us so well. I won't forget this hotel.

Getting around Istanbul was easy from this hotel, which is in a really good spot. I liked staying here and would come back.
