Santa Rio Gold Taxim Hotel

The beds are very narrow, and there’s nowhere to set down toiletries in the bathroom, so I had to use the closed toilet lid. There were no drinking glasses either. We couldn’t sleep because the noise at night was so much worse than during the day. The room had no Wi-Fi signal. The hotel is on a street with hairdressers and massage parlors operating around the clock, which felt unsafe to us.

The staff were lovely and ready to help, and the room was cleaned every day. My superior room was spotless, had a huge bathroom, and the water pressure was amazing. I didn’t expect such a quiet night in taksim, but it was surprisingly peaceful. The location is super central, and they even have free drinks at reception. I loved my stay and will book here again when I return to Istanbul.

The rooms are extremely small, with barely enough space for luggage and little room to move. For more than one night, that gets uncomfortable and frustrating. The hotel is clean, the staff are helpful, and its location is great for exploring Istanbul. It meets standard expectations for the Taksim area, but I’d only choose it for a short stay.
