Sultan Hamit Hotel

The staff made this stay really pleasant. They were always friendly and ready to help, and special thanks to Marjona, Oumaima & Onina. I was here for six nights in May 2026. The location is very central, with attractions, transport and plenty of places to eat within easy walking distance. The room was clean, though the extractor fans weren't working and the finish could be better. For the price, though, it was very good.

The rooms are on the small side, but ours had a little fridge, a locker and coffee. We also got two bottles of water free each day, plus snacks in the early evening, which we really appreciated. All three reception staff were friendly and helpful. Sultanahmet, Hagia sopia, topkapi palace and basilica cistern are all walkable from the hotel. For Galatta bridge, it's a 10-minute walk to the T1 tram. We were happy with our stay in Istanbul and would recommend it.

Breakfast was excellent, with lots of choices, and the daytime reception team were lovely. Oumaima was especially friendly, helpful and accommodating. Hagia Sophia is only a short walk away, too. But the room was tiny for a triple bed family booking, with barely room to move and an even smaller bathroom. The sea view was the one good thing about it. Arriving late with lots of luggage and an infant made the poor welcome even worse. I'd called that day to remind the hotel about our arrival, but the receptionist refused to help, even after we asked several times, and just handed over the keys. He was rude and unwelcoming. Staff at the nearby Hotel Esans, where we'd stayed earlier, came out to help with our luggage despite it being so late and having no obligation to do so. The room and night reception left us very disappointed.

We had a fantastic 10 days here with family in early August. The breakfast buffet had a brilliant range, and the staff made getting settled easy. Someone came straight out to take our bags when we arrived early, check-in was quick, and the team gave us useful directions and tips for getting around Istanbul. You're just 5-10 minutes from Hagia Sophia, Blue Mosque, Topkapi Palace and the coast, with lots of good restaurants nearby. Thanks so much to Oumaima, Omina, Sedat, Adem, Burak, Emin and all the other helpful staff at Sultan Hamit Hotel. It was a memorable trip, and we'll definitely come back to Istanbul.
