We left and paid for another hotel ourselves because the room we were given was unusable, and the replacement they eventually showed us smelled of smoke too. The other hotel was amazing and saved our holiday. We’d booked a non-smoking room, but as soon as we opened the door, a strong old-cigarette smell hit us. We don’t smoke, and it made us nauseous. It wasn’t faint, and we could barely sleep because it became even stronger during the night. I reported it to reception straight away and asked to move. They said the hotel was full and sprayed air freshener, which covered the odor only briefly. When I asked again the next morning, they said there was nothing they could do. Only after I persisted did they show us another room, which also smelled of smoke. There was no suitable alternative, and they refused a refund when we left. This was the first time we’d ever left a hotel, despite having stayed in dozens. The attitude made it worse: no apology, no real effort to fix things, and no acknowledgment that a non-smoking room smelling like an ashtray is unacceptable. For an idea of how they treat guests when something goes wrong, read the hotel’s responses to other poor reviews. It was easily my worst hotel experience. If you expect a clean, smoke-free room, an honest match with what you booked, or respectful and professional service, avoid this place. There are plenty of other nearby hotels that won’t leave you feeling you’ve wasted your time and money.

As a woman traveling alone on my first solo holiday, I felt very safe and had such a good time in Turkey. The staff were friendly and nice, and I’d highly recommend Suncomfort Hotel. My room was very nice and clean, checked daily, with toilet rolls and fresh towels topped up. It’s only a 10-minute walk to the Blue Mosque and Sultanahmet, and the tram stop is also about ten minutes away. There are loads of shops nearby, and getting around was easy.

The location is ideal, right in the old city centre and within walking distance of some major sights. For the price, the value is perfect. We stayed for three nights in march 2026. It’s not the newest hotel and could use some updates. The water pressure wasn’t steady, and breakfast was okay, though there wasn’t much variety.

We were happy with Sun Comfort Hotel and would come back if we have plans in the future. We spent seven days there, and the experience exceeded our expectations. The owner, administration, and all the staff, including the kitchen staff, were amazing. Our room, including the toilet, was cleaned regularly. Towels and slippers were replaced every 2 to 3 days, and toilet paper, soap, and shampoo were provided whenever needed. The room had air conditioning that we could use freely, plus a fridge, kettle, tea bags, sugar, and hair dryer. There was also an iron available on the top floor at no extra cost. Breakfast was good too, and you could certainly fill up.

I nearly canceled after reading the negative comments about this small hotel, but I’m glad I kept the booking. The rooms are small, yet clean, the bedding is perfect, and breakfast, while not very varied, is enough. The staff are very kind and eager to help with anything you need. The location is ideal for the main tourist spots. If you want luxury, pick a hotel that suits you, but don’t leave negative comments when that isn’t what this place offers. Think about how those reviews hurt a small business and its people, who really don’t deserve them. I don’t think the hotel has changed things because of the bad comments. I think it has simply always been as we found it, clean and kind. Good luck with the business, Sun Comfort Hotel! 👏
