Talen Otel

The location was a real plus, just a few steps from the train station, and the older man working reception and service was very friendly. Those were the highlights. Our room was in extremely poor condition, with mold in the bathroom and a hole in the ceiling above the shower. We stayed because the trip was too short to look for another place. The Google stars give a misleading impression: this is not a three- or four-star hotel, and everything else about it was misleading.

The Booking photos bore no resemblance to the actual living conditions. We never checked in, but were still charged the full room price. We’d canceled the reservation and told the manager, who said everything was fine, yet our cancellation request was never confirmed. Completely unacceptable.

A very reasonably priced hotel with easy parking. It’s close to the airport and the train station, which has a direct service to Istanbul’s historical centre.

Great location and there’s a parking lot. The staff were friendly and the service was very good, but the rooms are incredibly outdated. They look dirty and don’t feel safe in an earthquake. The air conditioning in our room was a real problem: it barely cooled the room, made noise, and kept me awake at night. The rooms need renovating.
