I stayed here from May 13 to May 18. For me, traveling alone, it was okay, but couples or families may want to think twice before booking. The walls let through a lot of noise from other rooms and guests. The TV only gets four channels, and the building belongs to three different clothing shops. Also, don’t count on being understood in English. The manager claimed in reviews that he speaks it, but his English is very limited. On the plus side, it’s close to the old and historical parts of Fath, with decent access to trams and buses. The metro is a bit farther away, and breakfast was adequate.

The historic district is beautiful, and getting around was easy with the tram and three metro lines nearby. Staff were very nice and supportive. Breakfast had delicious cakes, and tea was available free at all times.

The breakfast was absolutely awful, and I can’t recommend this hotel. The rooms weren’t cleaned. The air conditioner smells extremely bad, probably because it hasn’t been cleaned in a while, and the refrigerator smells too. The bathroom is hardly worth discussing: there’s no shower door, so showering floods the whole room. One star is too generous. I can’t agree with the positive reviews, this hotel is very, very bad.

We spent over a month at the Tanin Hotel. Our room was clean, and whenever we asked, we got fresh towels and sheets. The hotel felt nice and safe, and all the staff were kind, polite, and helpful. The location was great for getting around. The Laleli-Istanbul University tram stop is close by, and tram, metro, and bus stations are all within a five minute walk. You can travel from there to the beach, ferry terminals for the islands, Hagia Sophia, Gulhane Park, the Asian side, and Cevahir Passage. There’s also a beach about a ten minute walk away according to Google Maps. Leave the hotel, turn right, then left and keep going to the end. There are supermarkets and good, inexpensive places to eat along the way.
