The Grand Tarabya, Managed By Accor

The view is the one real plus here. The hotel sits right on the Bosphorus, but there’s nothing within walking distance, and I wouldn’t choose it for a good night’s sleep. I was in room 1307 on the third floor, and every time a door shut, the bang could be heard down at the lobby. All rooms are smoking rooms, and the strong spray they use to cover the cigarette smell gave me a headache. I paid extra for breakfast, then was told sunny-side-up eggs cost more. I wouldn’t recommend this place. Two stars for the view, otherwise none, and it was my first and last stay.

We planned a celebration, but the room was plain and didn’t have the things shown in the pictures we paid for. The staff weren’t helpful and wouldn’t accommodate any of our requests, so don’t expect that paying for a top-tier hotel will make you feel like a valued guest. They simply won’t.

I’d highly recommend this hotel for a comfortable, quiet vacation. My Bosphorus-view room was amazing, and the staff were kind and very helpful. Special thanks to the reception team for their hospitality and great service. One of the best places I’ve stayed in Istanbul.

The rooms have lovely Bosphorus views, and some come with a small or large balcony while others have none. The food is good and can be served in the evening. Cleanliness and service are good, which fits the hotel’s star rating.
