The Green Park Taksim

The hotel was peaceful and relaxing, a comfortable place to stay in Taksim, and everything felt well organized. The service was excellent, with friendly and helpful staff throughout. Enes deserves a special mention. He went out of his way to help us with many things and made sure we felt welcome and looked after. I’d highly recommend the hotel for a quiet stay with great service.

After a day exploring the shops and cafés along Istiklal Street, it was great to come back to a comfortable room. The bed was comfy, the shower had strong water pressure, and the Wi-Fi handled video calls without trouble. I also loved the city view from the room. Breakfast was a highlight, fresh and tasty with lots of options. Turkish tea and a relaxing view made for a lovely start to the day. The hotel itself felt clean and comfortable, and the lobby smelled amazing. Right in the middle of busy Taksim Square, the atmosphere inside was calm and welcoming. The staff were kind, and the location was convenient. I had a great stay at Green Park in Istanbul, Taksim, and would definitely come back.

The bed was comfortable, but the rest of my stay was awful. The hotel was being renovated and felt like a construction site. My room was dusty and full of rubble, and it hadn’t been cleaned before check-in. Dust from the hallways was tracked into the restaurant too. Guests and active construction shouldn’t be in the same space at the same time. The towels looked ancient, like they’d been around since World War II. The receptionist was extremely rude, chewing food ostentatiously at the desk so I could see I’d interrupted his meal. I asked for a bill for the company and was told to contact booking. “What, did you pay to us? You paid at booking!” Near the elevator, the receptionist, bellboy, and manager laughed loudly at me, knowing I could hear. I’ve never had an experience like this in Istanbul or Turkey. I’m 62 and sick, and I don’t think I deserved that. Maybe that’s how these men treat their mothers.

The hotel is conveniently placed for Taksim Square and nearby attractions, which was the main appeal. Staff were moderately friendly, like people at most big city hotels. They weren’t rude, answered questions, gave directions, and helped with luggage when asked. The facilities are quite old, and I’d probably take the stairs instead of the elevator. Most troubling, every towel in the room had stains. The showerhead wasn’t properly fixed, and there were only marks on the wall where the shampoo and body wash dispensers had been. Nobody seems to have repaired them.
