The Marmara Çamlıca

The room was comfortable, and the staff were kind and understanding throughout our stay. We had a very pleasant time and I'd definitely recommend it. Thanks again to everyone on the team!

Getting around from The Marmara Çamlıca was easy. A five-minute walk took us to minibuses connecting with major transport hubs, including the Metrobus and, from there, Marmaray and Metro. It was simple to reach the seaside in Üsküdar or Kadıköy. The area itself was quiet and green, and we felt reassured by the security at the entrance. Staff were friendly and helpful. Our room looked out over Validebağ Forest and had a lot of useful space and equipment: a kitchenette with a microwave, dishwasher, refrigerator and kettle, plus a washing machine. There were two large TVs and separate air conditioning units for each room. It felt more like home than a temporary place to stay, and it was very clean. Breakfast was a standout, with a wide selection and quality that seemed well above what I'd expect from a mid-range hotel, more like a gourmet spread. It was meant to start at 7:00, but wasn't fully ready until around 7:15. A warmer greeting from the breakfast staff, even just a good morning, would have made it nicer. I didn't rent a car, so I can't comment on parking. For a comfortable base in Istanbul, the location, in-room amenities and breakfast made this a strong choice for us.

The apartments are high-spec, feel luxurious and were very clean. It's a quiet, green residential area, though the nearest metro is a 20-minute walk away. Murat speaks excellent English and went out of his way to help. I also liked the Zero eco hair and shower products. Cleaning was disappointing: they emptied the bins and changed the towels, but didn't properly clean the floors or surfaces. Noise carries easily from the apartments above. And don't bother with the Papyon room service app, it was very slow and customer service never responded.
