The Marmara Pera Hotel

The staff were generally nice, and the cleaning team were especially good. Everything was clean and well maintained, and when I needed something they responded and tried to help. The front desk was okay, though a few more smiles and better eye contact would have made them feel more welcoming. I stayed for about ten days and had a comfortable visit. The location is very central and convenient for getting around, and I enjoyed the view from my room. Breakfast was decent and enough to start the day, even if it wasn't the best I've had.

The rooftop at Mikla was one of the best parts of my few days at The Marmara Pera in August 2025. The setting and atmosphere were memorable, and watching the city at sunset made it easy to connect with people from different places. There's also a small rooftop pool with a panoramic view. The water was quite cold, but a refreshing dip with the skyline around us was still enjoyable. The hotel is well placed for exploring Istanbul, with comfortable rooms and beautiful city views. Breakfast had good variety and quality, and the whole stay felt practical and pleasant. Reception were consistently efficient and helpful, offering useful sightseeing tips and helping arrange activities through local agencies.

We asked online for a high-floor room with twin beds and a city view when we booked two weeks before our trip. Instead, the front desk employee shown in the attached photo checked us into a smoking room on the first floor that didn't match any of those requests. He first said there were no other rooms. After we explained again that the room wasn't what we'd booked, he changed it, but the replacement was worse. It looked onto a rundown building, the air conditioner didn't cool properly, and noise from the bar outside reached the room. We immediately requested another change and were told to come back the next day. When we returned, we were again told no rooms were available, despite guests checking out that day. They refused our request to move into one of those rooms without even apologizing. The employee was unwelcoming and unhelpful, and we felt our reasonable concerns weren't taken seriously, even though we'd paid for the stay. Based on our experience, we don't recommend dealing with this employee. The attached photo shows the front desk employee who handled us throughout our stay.

Esma gave us such a warm welcome and was helpful throughout, so special thanks to her. The whole staff were kind and professional. The property was beautiful, well maintained and had a lovely atmosphere, and breakfast was excellent, with plenty of fresh, delicious choices each morning. We had a wonderful stay.
