The Milltown Hotel

The rooftop view was like a dream of Istanbul, with the whole city spread out below, especially beautiful at sunset. The location was central and close to many main attractions. Our rooms were spotless, cozy, and comfortable, and everyone on staff was welcoming, friendly, and helpful. The receptionists were especially kind and professional, always ready to help with a smile. Free tea and coffee was a nice touch, and breakfast had plenty of delicious options. A great stay, highly recommended for comfort, service, and those views.

We told the hotel roughly when we'd check in, and the room heater was already on when we arrived. It helped a lot because we were shivering from the cold outside. The room was nice and well equipped, and the staff were friendly and helpful. They spoke Turkish to our Uber driver, arranged a 6am taxi to the airport, and even gave us a little parting gift. It's not a luxury hotel, but really worth the money. We highly recommend it.

The receptionist's behavior was appalling, and I left the hotel because of it. He promised and confirmed that the accommodation payment would be refunded the next day. Then they suddenly said the money they had taken couldn't be returned, and after that they disappeared. It's a shame this is how tourists are treated. They should learn to show respect to the people who support their livelihood. Be very careful. I can't recommend this place at all after the treatment and humiliation I experienced.

Mr Omer helped me park at Ispark, the official city car park very close to the hotel. If you're renting a car, I recommend using it. He saved me from paying the street guys far too much. Mr Omer and Mr Chacha were also great on WhatsApp, replying within seconds and sorting things out right away whenever I needed something. The 24/7 butler service made me feel at home. I usually stay in 4- or 5-star hotels in Sultanahmet when I visit Istanbul, but this time prices were extremely high with Turkey's inflation. Sultanahmet was also under construction, with unpaved and closed streets, and parking was a problem. Some people were taking advantage of it and charging up to 2000 TL overnight. I needed somewhere in Sisli that was convenient and fit my budget, so I chose The Millttown hotel. The location is right in the heart of Sisli, just a 30-second walk from the main street. The rooms are nicely designed and have what you need. There are different room types for solo travelers and larger families. Breakfast is served at the lovely terrace rather than as a buffet. I was surprised the first morning, but over my 10-day stay I came to appreciate it: the Turkish breakfast was nicely presented, and anything missing from the table was brought over. I'd read mixed reviews on Google and Booking.con, and some didn't seem to reflect the hotel itself, just a particular incident or a guest's perspective. After staying here, I'd call it a smart budget hotel with affordable prices, comfortable rooms, a great location, good Turkish breakfast and very helpful service. It's become my favorite, and I'd definitely stay here again when I come to Istanbul.
