I stayed at this hotel in 2019, and still remember it, checking on it from time to time. People wonder why it being close to a cemetery bothers some guests. For me, that’s what made it memorable. Waking up and seeing the cemetery reminds me of God and how life can end at any second. It feels peaceful and spiritual. It wasn’t the best hotel, but I give it four stars because it left such a strong impression. I’m glad to see it’s been painted and the toilets improved. I hope the heating was fixed too. I don’t know if the same family still runs it, but they were kind and trustworthy when I stayed.

I rented a room for a month between January and February 2022 while visiting as a tourist. Money in large amounts of euros was stolen from my room twice. There was no CCTV on the floor, no official hotel sign, and guests didn't each have a key to the main door. The room also had lots of German cockroaches that got into bags and the wardrobe. This hostel felt like a trap and was a complete nightmare.

I paid 70 Turkish liras ($18) for a six-bed room with a small lockable closet. The hotel smelled really bad, and it had a lot of cats. There were only one or two bathrooms for the whole place. There wasn't anything nearby like a restaurant or café, just a big cemetery.

The heating radiator in my room didn't work, so the place was really cold in winter. The hotel is basically in a cemetery, and from a room facing that side you see gravestones and people visiting their dead. The location was poor and the service awful. A bad experience overall, and I wouldn't return.

Playing PlayStation with Aras, the manager, was the best part of my stay. The rooms were clean, the beds really comfortable, and the place is very affordable. It's also in a brilliant spot, close to everything. Management are friendly and helpful, and always willing to go the extra mile. Next time I'm in Istanbul, Veni Vidi Dormi will be my only choice. I'd definitely recommend Veni Vidi. Thanks for everything!
