Grand Corner Hotel - Boutique Class

This worked perfectly for my business trip. The receptionists were great and helpful, the rooms were perfectly clean, and room service was great too. Breakfast was great, and the rooftop restaurant had a very nice view. The location is busy, so there's a bit more noise, and the neighborhood around the railway station felt a little dangerous at night. Valet service was fast and great. The hot tub in the spa wasn't working. The restaurant next door offers hotel customers a 10% discount.

The breakfast selection was extremely limited, and the staff were not friendly. The hotel feels old, and service was very poor. I could hear the subway rumbling underneath, which made the stay uncomfortable. Even the closets and entrance doors rattled whenever they opened or shut. I wouldn’t choose this place again.

I booked five nights, but left after just one because the conditions were unacceptable for the price. I had to move rooms four times: the first had dirty sheets and insects, the next had cockroaches, and the third had a toilet so damp and humid it was hard to go in. The rooms were dirty, with hair and bugs around, and the lobby and reception had no air conditioning, making them humid and uncomfortable for both guests and staff. The building is very old, and its infrastructure seems to be failing. This place needs to close for renovation. It’s not worth four stars or the money.

The spa was the main reason I picked this hotel, and I went twice for a sauna, massage, and Turkish bath. The same lovely woman with striking blue eyes gave me a fantastic, very professional massage both times, and worked out the knots in my shoulder, which I injured in a motorcycle accident seven months ago. I’ll be back to the spa when I return in five months. I was there for a week while having dental work done. The room was spacious, cleaned daily, and had the most comfortable bed I’ve slept in apart from my own. Breakfast was just okay, but the few hot, soft options were helpful since I couldn’t eat my usual food with stitches in my gums. The staff were great about requests: I asked for milk for my tea, which they provide and refill daily, and it arrived within minutes after one call. The calls to prayer from the mosque were VERY loud, but otherwise it suited my needs perfectly.
