I checked out barely 10 minutes after arriving and had to find another hotel. They still kept the 180 AUD because of their booking policy, which wasted both my money and my trip. The place felt deserted, with no guests around and only what seemed like a family of staff cleaning. My room was filthy and in a terrible state. The staff were rude and couldn't speak any English, so it was hard to explain what was wrong. This was the worst hotel experience of my life. Save yourself the trouble and don't book here.

The staff were lovely and helpful, and breakfast was nice. Being right by Basmane train station was handy too. But the room smelled strongly of smoke, the bed was rock hard, and it took ages for the hot water to warm up. I was there one night with my son and was glad we weren't staying longer. The rooms really need updating.

I stayed for three nights and felt comfortable, almost like I was at home. Everyone working there was helpful, especially AHMED, an Arabic guy, and his coworkers. One night I asked where I could find a laundry shop. AHMED tried to point me in the right direction, then checked the next morning whether I'd found it. I hadn't, so he took my clothes to the laundry and had them brought to my room that evening. ❤️
