Başdeğirmen Aşıklar Tepesi

The food didn't have as much flavor as I expected from what I'd read. Fresh meat may be more likely on a weekend, but when I visited, mine wasn't fresh and smelled unpleasant. The staff kindly replaced it with another dish. I'd suggest checking the meat before it's cooked. The restaurant itself is clean and in a great location, with indoor and outdoor seating that feels pleasant and simple, especially if you like nature. It's easy enough to reach, though you need to pay attention on the road. Staff were friendly and helpful; there just weren't many around when we went, probably because of the holiday break.

I can't speak to the rooms, but the restaurant was just what you'd hope to find on a Turkish coastal trip. It's perched on a hill with a view of the Marmara, and a breeze coming through your hair. The meat and sides were superb, the food was excellent, and service was great. I especially liked the sauce the beef was soaked in.

Ahmad made lunch, dinner, or even just a coffee feel like a memorable occasion. The view of Istanbul is amazing.

The view is lovely, but the staff weren't welcoming. We sat at a table for a while hoping to get coffee or tea, then were rudely told they don't serve drinks. As we left, we saw two local guests who had arrived after us drinking tea.
