The location is really good, but the shower wasn’t very clean, and the toilet was so high off the ground that it was hard for children to use. Cigarette smoke from all the people smoking reached our room. Breakfast came as an individual plate with the usual Turkish spreads, but the bread wasn’t very fresh. The booking app said laundry was available, but I couldn’t find it. The hotel didn’t have an iron either, and since I wear scarves, having one in the room would’ve been nice.

The hotel is right by the old town center and the mosque attraction. We knew there was no lift and requested a lower floor. We arrived a little early and were told the room would be ready in 15 minutes, but waited over an hour and didn’t get in until just before 3 p.m., though check-in was meant to start at 2. For a simple overnight stop while passing through Konya, this one-star hotel did the job. Still, almost 2000 TL for one night felt steep for the quality. We booked last minute, though, and prices were high all over town at the time. The room was okay for one night, but not the cleanest. The previous guest’s rubbish was still in the bin. On the plus side, the beds were comfortable enough, the air conditioning worked well, and the fridge was cold. Breakfast was a bit underwhelming. It was a prepared plate with a boiled egg, olives, spreads, cucumber, tomato, butter, and a small piece of cheese. There were big baskets of bread, plus Turkish tea and juice, but no coffee, milk, or cold water. Some yogurt or fruit would’ve been nice. Reception staff were friendly and tried to help. English isn’t widely spoken, which is fine to know in advance. We got by with a translator app.

Right by the square, the location is great. Breakfast was simple but okay, and the beds were comfortable with clean sheets. The rooms were small, though, and smelled of cigarettes and sewers. The walls and floors were dirty.

There’s no elevator, which could be a drawback. But the place was warm enough in winter, quiet and clean, and the staff were very helpful. I stayed two nights and found it good value for the price. It’s also conveniently close to the Mevlana Museum in Konya.
