Wyndham Garden Lara (ex. Lara Family Club)

We came home last Wednesday after six days at this wonderful hotel, and I really do miss it. The food was delicious, the place was spotless, and the staff worked so hard to make sure everyone was happy. Wherever we sat down, someone would come over and ask if we wanted a drink. Their kindness made my children feel at home. The reception team were so helpful and gave us good tips for little trips. Our rooms were very spacious and clean, and the maids were lovely and friendly. I also booked three massages in the spa and enjoyed them a lot.

The restaurant service made our meals special, especially Emir and Hazal, who looked after us in the main restaurant and sometimes at the beach restaurant. They were friendly, made a fuss of our two young grandchildren, kept the plates cleared efficiently, and brought drinks almost before we asked. The hotel and grounds were among the cleanest I’ve seen at a holiday hotel. Cleaners were constantly at work, even getting spilled food under baby chairs within seconds. Buffet food was hot and had lots of variety, and the Asian and Italian restaurants served very high-quality meals. The inclusive drinks were great too, with a huge selection and cocktails mixed fresh in front of you instead of premixed. What a place, well worth staying at.

The hotel staff were helpful across the board and went out of their way for us. Service was top notch, and our room was very clean with a great pool view. The food did feel repetitive, though. Unfortunately, a Sun Point rep ruined the holiday. We were overcharged and had to file a chargeback with the bank over an excursion we took, which didn’t feel safe for our children. Do not book Sun Point excursions, and please don’t allow their reps in the hotel.

I don’t know why I’m reviewing a stay from about four years ago, but the food was so good that I felt homesick for the resort after we left, just before my birthday on April 14, 2022. Our family of five was part of a 12-person group. We were meant to stay at the Ramada resort, but because there wasn’t enough space, we got access to both resorts for food and other things, which was rare and a highlight for me. Our family room at the Wyndham garden Lara was very big, with a spacious living room and comfortable beds. The beach was extensive and excellent, the best I’d seen on a trip, with nothing to complain about. Being just south of the main airport made travel much easier too. I still wish I were at the Wyndham garden Lara now. It feels more like a five-star resort than a four-star one, and I hope to return in the future. Thanks for having me and my family.
