Ephesus Lodge Hotel

Not a luxury place, but it was quite comfortable and in a useful spot near Ephesus and a couple of wineries. The food and drinks from the chef were delicious, and the team were excellent, friendly, and good at solving problems. Such a cool, green, lovely lodge in Kirazlı Köyü.

The restaurant had a menu with different flavors, and the drinks were delicious. Staff were friendly, very attentive, and the place is family-run. We had a spacious room that was quite adequate for our family of four, with a large TV, sofas, and a big bathroom that felt comfortable enough. The kids had limited options, but we enjoyed the pool, swing, and board games. The broad garden was lovely to walk around, and the big walnut trees gave us a shady place to cool off. It was a pretty quiet setting. I'd definitely consider staying here again.

The replacement room was cold, humid, and got little sunlight, and the air conditioner didn't work. We'd booked a room advertised with a fireplace, but there was only enough wood for the first use. Poor air circulation left the room smoky. We switched rooms after the TV in our original room failed, and the attempt to fix it wasted time. The downstairs room was smaller and cheaper, but no one offered to refund the price difference. The garden and pool were covered in fallen leaves and didn't look like they were cleaned every day as promised. Over our two nights and three days, breakfast was very weak in quality and local choices. We arrived late and tired, hoping for a peaceful night's sleep, and left disappointed.

I was the only guest, so the lodge felt a bit empty and quiet in such a remote location, but the staff were always smiling and ready to help with anything. Breakfast in the courtyard was delicious, and a cute, funny kitty kept me company. The website photos were a little embellished, to be honest. The rooms were darker and looked used and tired, though they still had plenty of space and were comfortable. I wish I'd come in winter and been able to use the room fireplace. Google Maps puts the lodge one block before its actual location, so I wound up in someone's private yard. The owners already knew exactly what had happened, so I guess I wasn't the only one.
