Ephesia Resort Hotel

We took a trip into Kusadasi on nearby public transport, which was dirt cheap, and also joined a boat trip that stopped at three coves for swims in crystal-clear water and a light lunch. I think our travel agency was DER Turistik, and it wanted twice what the seller with a simple stall just behind the hotel charged. That might help anyone looking to save money. We stayed in 06/2024 and loved it. The beach right beside the hotel is extremely narrow, with only two or three rows of sunbeds and umbrellas. After the first two exciting days, we chose the well-kept grassy area instead, just a few steps farther from the sea. A pedestrian path along the promenade separates it from the beach. The sandy beach has a walkway for people with limited mobility, but slopes down toward the sea, making it narrow and a bit slanted. The room was spacious and clean, with a great view of the pool and sea. The mattress was the best I’ve ever slept on in any accommodation, and the bed was long enough even for people over 180cm. I slept like a log. Staff across the bars, restaurants, cleaning team, suppliers, and sunbed crew were all friendly and attentive. They were quick to clean up any mess. Food and drinks were great and plentiful, including at the beach bar, gozlemi stall, ice cream, and restaurants. We were mega satisfied.

Two days into the holiday, my partner and I got food poisoning and were taken to hospital. When we returned, the only person who seemed concerned about how we were doing was the tui rep. We were too scared to eat the hotel food, so we paid a fortune for meals at other restaurants. The town of KusDarsi is lovely, at least. The jacuzzi was only available for one hour a day, from 4-5pm. When we asked for ice cream, we were told they had none.

A few things were less than ideal, but we still had a five-star stay. The sea wasn’t always calm, and the conditions weren’t right for snorkeling every day, though waves could be a plus if you enjoy them. The beach was narrow and at an odd angle, making it uncomfortable to stay by the water or use the sunbeds. The umbrellas were small and didn’t provide much shade, especially when trying to protect little ones. During our first week, my husband and I both had stomach pain and vomiting. We can’t say what caused it, and we aren’t blaming the hotel, but it affected part of our stay. The sea was a highlight. We loved the clear water, snorkeling, and getting to see turtles up close. It was magical and something we’ll remember. Our room was peaceful, comfortable, and always spotless, thanks to the cleaning staff’s hard work. The food was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully prepared, and we looked forward to every meal. Deleria deserves special thanks for her kind, patient help with our little one. Her cheerful “Günaydın!” each morning made us feel welcome. Beyza was also there before every meal, bringing good energy and smiles. The staff were always friendly and dedicated, and there was plenty of food and drink along with enough sunbeds and umbrellas. On the downside, the beds were too hard, and I couldn’t get even a little hot water for a shower. The pool water was cloudy, so I’m unsure whether it was being checked regularly.
