Delphin Apart Hotel

The location is excellent, and the hotel felt very safe. I stayed with my 84-year-old mum, and we both enjoyed it. Mr Ahmet, the hotel manager, and his wife Ayşe hanım were especially helpful. They helped me with parking and brought extra blankets when we needed them. One of the best hotels of our holiday.

The location and staff were the only good parts. The building is old and dirty, and the air conditioner is basically decoration: it switches on but doesn't cool the room. I couldn't sleep because the bed was worse than in jail. Even the cheapest pillow from a bedding shop in Turkey would be more comfortable than the one at Delphin. If you actually want to sleep, stay somewhere else.

I barely slept. The neighborhood noise, mostly singing from nearby buildings, went on until about 2 a.m.; then someone set off firecrackers at 4, followed by the call to prayer. The bathroom was very dated, with exposed mold, and showering was quite an experience: no fixed shower head, just a handheld one that sent water everywhere except where it should go. The beds were hard and the pillows felt like stone tablets. I was disappointed from turning the doorknob to leaving the next morning. I guess you get what you pay for.

The room was a little dated, but the owner was a lovely lady, very pleasant and helpful. The beach is just a one-minute walk from the hotel apartment, and there's a very cheap supermarket about five minutes away.
