Green Imperial Beach

It’s pretty much in the middle of nowhere, so this suits families who are happy at the hotel pool or the fairly clean beach more than people wanting to explore. You can take a bus or cab to nearby cities, but we didn’t do much of that. The food was quite good. During meals they played the same CD of Italian hits on repeat until I asked for local music, then the other CD got repeated instead, which was annoying. Our first room faced a busy road and was awful, but thankfully we could move, and the replacement room was great.

The pools and rooms were dirty. My children developed eye infections, and my husband still has an ear infection. A cleaner mistakenly took a pocket with our clothes and threw it away, and the manager did nothing. I’ll never stay here again, and neither will my friends. Don’t make the same mistake.

There were loads of problems, and I can’t be bothered listing them all. The place was filthy, there wasn’t enough staff anywhere, just one animator, and the staff who were there were very rude. The sea was VERY FILTHY in the morning, and the slides weren’t always running, only at 11-12 and 15-16 local time. Our mini-fridge was old and filthy, and the TV channels were distorted. There’s no exchange office within at least 5 km, so you’re stuck paying in euros or dollars. They calculate everything in dollars, and apparently treat €1 as $1 if you don’t have dollars.

We were impressed by this lovely place for a holiday with children. The staff were very friendly and helpful, and the service was excellent. There was interesting entertainment and an evening program, along with delicious food, a beautiful hotel, and a great atmosphere. I hope we can come back :)
