Yashish, the owner, is kind, speaks good English, and has helpful suggestions for places of local interest. The hotel is in the beautiful, atmospheric old town, and the terrace looks out over Mesopotamia with stunning views. It’s a striking place to stay, renovated and decorated beautifully. The welcoming, inclusive spirit comes through in the decor, which makes a point of bringing people together in harmony.

I’ve never stayed in a worse hotel. This place was terrible, and I’d tell anyone to avoid it unless they want what could be their worst stay ever.

The regional dishes at breakfast were delicious, and the welcome felt genuinely friendly. The rooms were clean and comfortable too. Mardin Kale Konak Hotel has a lovely mix of traditional architecture and modern comfort, with a superb outlook over the old town and the Mesopotamian plain.

We were treated wonderfully by staff who paid attention to every detail, and the breakfast had a generous spread of local Mardin delicacies. The courtyard and terrace are beautiful, and the rooms feel authentic. Even in cold weather, the heating worked well. The location is great too, just a few minutes down the stairs to the Old Mardin Bazaar.

The terrace was beautiful at any hour, and we came away with unforgettable memories of our time here. It’s a captivating historic mansion, restored in the old center of Mardin just above the square. The room was comfortable and clean, the staff friendly and attentive, and the owners very caring. Breakfast was excellent. Thanks to everyone involved.
