Ketenci Hotel

We were told we couldn’t leave a few bags in the room for a few hours while we went for a walk before heading to the airport. I’d rented it so a friend could stay overnight after her flight was delayed, but the front desk kept insisting that two people were staying. My two other friends and I were made to leave. The receptionist was rude, didn’t understand us, and had very limited English. They could have handled it with some basic politeness.

The only real plus was the location on the main road, close to shops, which is why we booked. We weren’t welcomed on arrival, and the reception staff weren’t helpful. Our flight meant we paid for an extra day without staying, and when we missed breakfast, nobody offered us anything to eat. The breakfast itself was very basic, the rooms weren’t very clean, and I found hair on the sheets. They should clean the rooms daily. I also found the On the Beach team there to be scammers, so be careful.

Breakfast was really good, with a pleasant view over the pool, and the staff serving it were friendly and spoke English. Our room was spacious and nicely decorated, with a balcony overlooking the city, though the bathroom could have been bigger. The other staff were nice too, but check-in was uncomfortable. The receptionist asked whether my companion was my boyfriend or a relative, saying he needed to know what room to offer us. He also stood in front of our trunk, then took our luggage and car key, saying he was trying to help. There are only a few parking spaces, maybe around ten, despite the hotel having hundreds of rooms. The balcony door lock was also nearly falling off. I considered rating it lower, but those issues seemed limited to that man, the parking, and the lock.

Breakfast ran from 7:30 to 10 and had plenty of choices, and we enjoyed sitting by the small pool late at night. The hotel is in a great spot in Marmaris, near shops, restaurants, and places to go out, and it has its own parking if you bring a car. Our room wasn’t spacious, but it had what we needed. Cleaning wasn’t great, so we kept calling to have towels changed and the room cleaned. Communication was also tricky because most of the staff didn’t understand or speak English, though one receptionist knew enough to help. All in all, it worked well for our one-week stay.
